PGA of Canada, Class A Professional Instruction

Ryan Lawrence, Class "A" PGA Professional / Director of Instruction

ryan.lawrence@elmiragolfclub.on.ca

Background Information:

Ryan Lawrence

BSc. (Kin), BEd., OCT | PGA of Canada Class “A”

Director of Instruction, Elmira Golf Club

Professional Profile

Ryan Lawrence is a regional specialist in high-performance golf mechanics and human movement. Unlike the traditional "tell-based" instruction model, Ryan utilizes his background as a Certified Ontario Teacher (OCT) and kinesiologist to deliver a data-driven, pedagogical approach to the game.

Based out of the Elmira Golf Club, Ryan attracts a regional clientele seeking elite-level swing re-engineering. His unique journey from the classroom to the range has made him one of the most technically advanced and educationally qualified instructors in the Kitchener-Waterloo region.

Precision Measurement (3D Biomechanics)

Ryan operates on a philosophy of "Measure, Don't Guess." Ryan’s goal is the surgical identification of swing flaws and the delivery of immediate, measurable results. Whether it is a beginner seeking a functional foundation or a low-handicap player hunting for 0.5% gains, Ryan’s approach is rooted in educational science:

"I don't just provide cues; I provide a curriculum. My background in education allows me to find the specific analogy or biofeedback drill that triggers an 'aha' moment for each individual student. We aren't just hitting balls; we are re-engineering movement patterns through staged, technical instruction."

The Client Experience

Every session is a professional engagement. Students receive:

• 3D Comparative Analysis: Seeing the difference between "feel" and "real."

• Quantitative Results: Measurable gains in clubhead speed, ball flight apex, rotational efficiency, and kinematic sequencing.

• Digital Continuity: A personalized post-lesson breakdown including key video takeaways and data metrics to ensure the results translate to the course.

Testimonials

I have had the benefit of several golf training experiences with Ryan Lawrence at the Elmira Golf Club since summer 2025. Ryan's knowledge of the elements of the game and attention to detail is extraordinary. His progressive training techniques allow for the incremental development of his student's ability to improve their golf game with practice over time. Ultimately, the elements when combined result in a smooth rhythm. The golf swing becomes a natural motion.

Ryan's use of advanced technology (K Motion, HackMotion, deWiz) and video analysis to monitor the work and progress of his students is second to none. This fosters a greater understanding of one's dynamics and technical details, tracking both swing transition and tempo. Personally, this has led to the development of an effective golf swing with improved delivery and execution in terms of distance and accuracy. I highly recommend the golf training offered by Ryan Lawrence.

I came to Ryan after a few seasons of play and several attempts at lessons elsewhere. I was struggling with everything—consistency, distance, and a general lack of fluidity. Within just eight lessons, Ryan completely transformed my swing. By utilizing tools like K-Motion to dial in my biofeedback, I’ve gained 20 mph in clubhead speed and 40 yards of distance, all while finding more consistent ball striking.

What sets Ryan apart is his ability to meet you where you are; he’s determined to find the specific drill or analogy that clicks for you. He doesn't just repeat the same cues; he hunts for that 'aha' moment. His energy and passion are undeniable—teaching is clearly second nature to him. Do yourself a favor and give him a call.

Working with Ryan has been an incredibly positive experience for me. His use of technology to analyze my swing, along with his visual observations and intuitive drills, has really helped to identify and correct what was causing my swing issues. The K-Motion 3D allowed me to truly see how my body was moving through my swing—not at all how I thought it was. With the help of the Hack Motion for wrist mechanics, we could identify slight incorrect angles at the point of impact. These key factors have allowed my shot to achieve improved rotation rates and better apex height on my irons. I initially thought I was not advanced enough to take advantage of this type of technology, but after discussing it with Ryan, I am so glad I did.

- Mark Vickers

Being relatively new to the game of golf, I have taken a variety of lessons. Most of these lessons have involved an instructor “telling” me what to do. Ryan is my first instructor to “show” me what to do. With video analysis coupled with K-motion 3D body tracking, I have gained an understanding of what to do and why to do it, which makes for true learning. Ryan then provides the drills and feels on how to get there. Ryan’s effective use of video and K-Motion 3D swing analysis gives me the picture and understanding of what I need to do in all parts of the swing and has accelerated my learning to play my best golf.

- Joe Dietrich

I’ve really enjoyed my lessons with Ryan. He’s a great instructor who takes time to explain how all the little movements can improve my swing. Lessons weren’t rushed, with each one adding new techniques, and I was surprised how my swing improved with even the smallest of adjustments. Ryan clearly explained to me how the adjustments would make a difference. The K-Motion feedback was valuable to assess the different movements in my swing and where improvements were needed.

- Judy Charles

Incredible! K-Motion gives instant feedback that’s a total game-changer. Ryan’s instruction—combined with K-Motion—has completely transformed my ability to create a consistent, repeatable swing. As a senior with limited natural athletic ability, I could picture the swing in my mind, but my body wouldn’t follow—and even a good swing was difficult to repeat.

With K-Motion sensors on my wrist, arm, pelvis, and torso, the real-time audio feedback shows me exactly when I’m in the correct positions. That instant awareness, combined with Ryan’s clear guidance and simple at-home drills, is finally helping me move properly and build real consistency.

We’re rebuilding my swing one stage at a time, and I’m seeing real progress due to the live biofeedback. I highly recommend working with Ryan; the K-Motion technology gives you instant, precise feedback that accelerates real improvement.”

- Greg Schott

I decided to take a few lessons with Ryan a year and a half ago; improvement in my game had stalled, and I was a 10 handicap and had been for a few years. I noticed the results right away; I was hitting the ball a lot further and more consistently after just one lesson. Fast forward to today and I’m down to a 4 handicap and have never felt better about my golf game.

- Adam McDonnell

Ryan truly enjoys watching people get better. He explains your swing in sections and always asks you, "How are you going to remember that so you can repeat it?" He seems genuinely happy when you hit a poor shot so you can tell him what went wrong.
When I walked into our last session Ryan greeted me with,
“Okay! I kept watching the videos of your swing from last session, and I know what we are going to work on.”
He was prepared for the lesson, and that really impressed me.
Ryan is a great teacher, and anyone struggling to get better should reach out to him.

- Andy Campbell

When I decided that I wanted to learn to play golf at 78 years old, my wife insisted I get a professional coach. She suggested I call Ryan!
I found Ryan to be very knowledgeable. His instruction methods included demonstrations followed by teaching you to duplicate what he does, taking into account my age. I am very happy with the knowledge I now have and feel competent enough to get out on the golf course and practice what I learned.
He has excellent teaching skills with attention to detail as appropriate. Thank you, Ryan.

HackMotion Wrist Sensor

HackMotion precisely measures wrist positions and movement throughout the golf swing. Because the wrists directly control clubface angle, this technology helps identify the root causes of issues such as slices, hooks, and inconsistent contact. Golfers gain a clear understanding of how their wrist motion affects ball flight and learn how to produce more consistent, repeatable swings.

deWiz Swing Analyzer

deWiz analyzes swing sequencing, transition, and tempo, providing immediate feedback during the lesson. This allows golfers to feel correct movement patterns rather than relying solely on visual changes. deWiz is especially effective for improving rhythm, timing, and efficiency, helping players create lasting swing changes more quickly.
