2021 Information & Updates

COVID-19 Action plan at Elmira Golf Club updated as of July 16th, 2021

 

All players must have a pre-booked tee-time. NO walk-ins or walk-ups. 

 

Golf Ontario is encouraging golfers book as foursomes

 

Members – You may only use the on-line tee-on system for all bookings, edits, changes, and deletions. Easy access to tee-on on-line booking also in our App. Contact us for any assistance.

Guests – Online booking only is as easy as 1-2-3 to be able to have an account to book on-line. All you require is your name, email, and a couple of minutes to set up. Online payment per tee-time is currently an option after booking. Phone bookings are accepted; however, an email, phone numbers and full player names is required

What you need to know before arriving at Elmira Golf Club and during play:

 

In order to maintain the health and safety for you, our staff, and all others we require you to read the following rules and guidelines now in place. Anyone failing to comply with the rules will not be permitted to play. These guidelines will also be emailed to you each tee-time booking and are posted at entrances at Elmira Golf Club. 

 

  • Stay home if you have any COVID-19 symptoms or if you might or have been exposed to anyone with symptoms of COVID-19. Screen yourself prior to each arrival. 

  • If you have returned from travel outside of Canada within the last 14 days, you are to follow the quarantine guidelines of the province of Ontario 

  • Arrive with good hand hygiene. Hand sanitizer will also be provided in a number of key areas.

  • Arrival 30-45 minutes maximum prior to your tee-time.

  • No gathering in parking lot areas

  • Always maintain 6 feet physical distancing 

  • Only bottled water available $ (currently fountains are closed)

  • Groups may be matched up to round out foursomes in order to create spacing and full foursomes (No shows will be tracked accordingly and charges may apply)

  • Masks or face coverings required in all public spaces in the Region of Waterloo. At Elmira Golf Club this includes the entire clubhouse, washrooms, Golf Shop, Grill on the Green, Patio, Take out service areas including halfway and any time on the property you come in contact with a staff member or cannot maintain 6' of space.

 

Golf Check-in

 

  • Window check-in line outside Golf Shop for all golfers

  • Pre-payment, on account, credit card & debit tap options (please try to avoid using cash)

  • For washrooms please enter from Golf Shop front doors and maintain distancing  

  • The Golf Shop is now open for retail sales 

  • Daily weather updates and course instructions provided by Golf Shop & Starter staff

  • Scorecard & pencil available from Golf Shop attendant or download our Free Elmira Golf Club App to use the scorecard and GPS features.

  • Washroom facilities “New” Port-o-lets set up between 9's at the clubhouse putting green and at #5 Tee / #7 Green only 

  • Please maintain social distancing on all practice facilities 

 

Golf Carts / Pull Carts 

 

  • Two riders per cart (clear divider between riders as an option)

  • Maximum of 2 carts per tee-time, organize groups accordingly (Elmira Golf Club holds the right to extend an additional cart to a group if necessary and if supplies available)

  • Outline of all special rules/regulations posted on each cart

  • Following your round, please leave your cart with key, in the outlined cart cleaning area on the paved pathway right of the first tee.

  • Please dispose of your garbage in the available trash cans an recycling areas at cart cleaning area and remove all belongings. Elmira Golf Club is not responsible for items left behind. 

  • Please leave pull cart rentals in the cart cleaning area as noted above following your round

  • Please DO NOT leave any used carts in any other areas. 

 

During Play

 

  • Currently, the golf course is being played starting on #1 and finishing #18 if playing 9 holes, finishing on #9. This may change at anytime on any given day if required.

  • Recycling and trash can station available between 9’s and on specific areas of the course. Please only use stations to dispose of any trash. 

  • The Grill on the Green halfway will be in operation prior to golf and between nine opening daily at 9 am until dusk or 9 pm Monday to Sunday. The restaurant is only open at 11 on weekdays. 

  • Beverage cart is currently available weather pending

 

Following Play

  • Please only ENTER The Grill on the Green from the double door front entrance off the parking lot with mask for any take away orders or to be waited for seating on the patio or inside.

  • Alcohol is not permitted in the parking lot areas at any time (any alcohol not purchased from The Grill on the Green is not permitted anywhere at any time)

  • No gathering in the parking lot areas 

Closures currently in 2021

  • Shower area facilities 

  • On the course washrooms at hole #6 and #3/#15 holes; however, we do now have one port-o-let out between #5 tee and #7 green.

  • Golf Shop water fountain

Sanitizing and cleaning (Aegis Microbe Shield has been applied to below areas, many staff areas and more)

  • Each power cart, pull cart, range basket, staff equipment, stop sign handles on course, door handles, washroom areas, and check-in counter. All these items will continue to be sanitized after each use as well as range balls.

  • Available washroom facilities will continue to be sanitized frequently

  • Customer hand sanitizing stations available at entrances 

Grill On The Green Vaccination Requirements

 

Please see below the  Provincially Mandated Requirements for The Grill on the Green regarding inside dining beginning Wednesday September 22nd, 2021.

 

  1. All person’s ages 12 and over must have a vaccination receipt showing full vaccination (2 doses plus 14 days) to dine inside all restaurants). This does not include the outside upper deck patio spaces.

  2. Along with the vaccination receipt, you will need to show government issued ID (drivers license, passport, health card, etc.)

  3. Any guest that are unable to provide this information will be allowed to only dine on the patio or take their food to go

  4. Children ages 11 years and younger will be exempt from these policies

  5. These polices are firm, no exceptions will be made.

  6. Please be sure to have this information ready at the door check in area if you plan to eat in.

 

The Ontario Government has issued these requirements for us to follow. We thank you in advance for adhering to these regulations and continue to support us through this time. Please be kind, prepared and patient with the process.

 

Changes will be coming later in October from the Government with more of an official passport app / QR Code. Please find a couple of current items to use for now.

Q&A (Question and Answer):

 

  • Q1. Will I need to show my vaccine information each visit even as a member or frequent diner to The Grill on the Green.

  • A1. For now yes as we are not prepared to keep / track this sort of information currently on file at The Grill on the Green.

 

  •   Q2. Do I need to show this information if using the washroom facility, picking up food, stopping at the halfway or moving from the front door check in to the patio?

  • A2. No you are only required to provide this information for inside The Grill on the Green dining. A mask is still required inside all areas and contact tracing information at sign in is still required for both inside and outside dining.

 

  • Q3. Will I need to provide vaccine information for other services at Elmira Golf Club such as golfing, range, lessons, using the locker room / washrooms or shopping in the Golf Shop.

  • A3. No, for now under the regulations, you are only required to show your vaccination receipts and information for inside dining in The Grill on the Green.

 

Together we can ALL, Keep SAFE, Keep 6’ SPACE, and Keep a 4-HOUR Pace. Golf is an individual sport; however, this is a TEAM effort and we are all on the Golf Team.
